Babalwa
Ngonyama

Babalwa Ngonyama is the Global CEO and major shareholder of Sinayo. Ngonyama is passionate, relatable, and solely focused on the development of leaders that are equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow. Ngonyama prides herself on her ability to inspire curiosity and spark the desire for education and development. Ngonyama has dedicated her career and her life to developing human intellect and creating a sustainable, equitable and just society.  

Ngonyama has occupied diverse leadership roles as a lead independent director and chairperson of various committees of South African entities at various stages of their lifecycles. The acclaimed CEO is also the founding chairperson of the African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA), an organization whose key aim is to accelerate the development of black female Chartered Accountants. She currently serves on its Advisory Board. 

In addition to leading Sinayo, Babalwa was a board member of Vukile Properties and a lead independent director of Hollard Life, Hollard Insurance, Kagiso Tiso Holdings and Vukile Properties. She was the audit committee chair of the latter two organisations. She was also a board member and the committee chair of Aspen and a lead independent director at Implats Ltd. Previously an audit partner at Deloitte’s, Safika Holdings Group CFO, and Chief Internal Auditor at Nedbank Ltd. She also served as the Chairperson of the University of Cape Town Council.  

Gregg Abell is the Global Head of Revenue. Gregg Abell is a pioneering entrepreneur with over 18 years of hands-on experience. With a degree from AFDA, Gregg laid the cornerstone for what would become the second-largest film catering enterprise in Southern Africa. His culinary expertise has graced the sets of renowned international films, including Disney’s “The Jungle Book” and Warner Brothers’ hits like “The Avengers” and “Dark Tower”. 

Beyond the movie sets, his ventures into corporate catering have been honoured by serving multiple past and current presidents, as well as premier blue-chip corporations. At his pinnacle, he operated with thirteen dynamic teams, backed by a robust workforce of 130 professionals. His gastronomic journey didn’t stop there; Gregg pioneered two distinguished restaurants. The most notable, “The Countess,” not only clinched the title for Johannesburg’s best burger by Eatout but was also celebrated as a nominee for South Africa’s Best Newcomer Restaurant. Furthermore, in the brief span of two years, it garnered multiple accolades.

With an undying spirit of entrepreneurship, Gregg transitioned from the culinary world to the arena of sports, setting his sights on creating a global imprint. This led to the inception of Sinayo Hospitality in South Africa, subsequently branching out to Singapore and Australia. His ambitious endeavours have allowed him to secure rights to some of the world’s most coveted sporting events. In collaboration with Babalwa Ngonyama & Sinayo, we are elevating Sinayo Hospitality, aiming to be the unparalleled global travel and hospitality partner for premier sporting events.

Abell

With over two decades of expertise in sales management, Luyolo Nkunzi is a dynamic leader known for driving business growth and building high-performing teams. As the Sales & Marketing Executive at Sinayo Hospitality, Luyolo excels in crafting strategic sales initiatives and leading business development efforts. His impressive career spans key roles in some of the most notable companies, including Edward Snell & Company, VIP Liquors, Heineken, and AB InBev, where he consistently exceeded sales targets.

Luyolo’s experience across diverse industries, particularly beverages and consumer goods, has honed his ability to execute strategies that deliver measurable results. His exceptional communication and leadership skills have earned him multiple awards for execution excellence. A strong advocate for digital transformation, Luyolo is also adept at managing large-scale projects in fast-paced environments, ensuring that businesses adapt and thrive in today’s ever-evolving market.

Siya Xhamela brings over 20 years of experience in marketing, property valuation, and auctioneering to his role at Sinayo Hospitality. He is a seasoned professional, currently pursuing his Advanced Diploma in Management at Regent Business School, further enhancing his business acumen. Siya is known for his ability to manage complex projects, develop innovative marketing strategies, and drive organizational success.

His brief experience in local government, combined with his unique ability to raise the standard of professionalism and deliver high-quality services, makes Siya an invaluable partner in achieving business excellence. He is dedicated to improving business operations, transforming companies, and managing human resources and communications with precision. His industrious nature and strong leadership enable him to address the business’s environmental and performance needs, making him a key figure in Sinayo Hospitality’s ongoing success.

Amanda Baloyi is a seasoned Financial and Investment Analyst with a decade of experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and cost optimization. As the Finance Manager at Sinayo Hospitality, Amanda plays a crucial role in driving profitability and ensuring operational efficiency. Her expertise spans various industries, including property and banking, where she has consistently implemented successful financial strategies and cost-saving initiatives to maximize resources.

Amanda holds a BCOM Degree in Finance and Economics, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Investment Management. Her strong financial leadership and analytical skills make her a key contributor to Sinayo Hospitality’s continued growth and success.

When she’s not navigating financial landscapes, Amanda enjoys reading, cycling, and spending time in nature, where she can often be found observing wildlife and appreciating the natural beauty around her.
